Weidemann became 2nd Canadian to collect gold, silver, bronze at a Winter Games

Ottawa’s Isabelle Weidemann, leads all Canadian athletes in medals at the 2022 Olympics, having previously won the individual silver and bronze in the 5,000m and 3,000m. She becomes only the third Canadian long track speed skater to win more than two medals at a single Olympics.

The Olympic Winter Games Beijing 2022 comes to a close this Sunday morning. Tune in for coverage of the Closing Ceremony, beginning at 6:30 a.m. ET (3:30 a.m. PT). Watch it on CBC TV,  CBC Gem, cbc.ca/Beijing2022, the CBC Sports app and on CBC News Network at 7 a.m. ET.

The closing ceremony will also be offered in Eastern Cree, as well in ASL and Described Video. Catch a primetime repeat of the closing ceremony at 7 p.m. ET (4 p.m. PT) on CBC TV.

5 Ottawa-raised players set to blitz NFL draft

Five Ottawa-raised football players who went to U.S. colleges have declared for the NFL draft, which is set for later in April.

Offensive lineman Chris Fournier said he was "a big kid" growing up in Ottawa suburb of Orléans. Now standing 6'4" and weighing in at 290 pounds, he remembers a debate about whether he might become a formidable hockey player.
