The book follows a group of friends who run away from home to join a remote island commune as the final days of high school draw closer.
On April 25, de Souza will be at Lucky's Books and Comics in Vancouver for a special launch event. | | | Adam de Souza with a copy of The Gulf | | | | | Connecting with Kardias Quing at Neptoon Records | | Earlier this month, 100 Collective Records announced their inaugural lineup of artists, a diverse group that transcends genres with their unique sounds. One of those artists is Kardias Quing, a Filipino Canadian artist from Vancouver. Drawing influences from alternative pop and R&B, Quing brings a message of love and sovereignty with their ambitious songwriting and powerful vocals.
With Record Store Day coming this Saturday, story producer Jeremy Ratt connected with Kardias at Vancouver's Neptoon Records to chat about memories of physical media, their signing with the label, and their songwriting philosophy. | | | Jeremy Ratt and Kardias Quing in front of Neptoon Records | | | In the basement of Neptoon Records | | | | | Record Keeping with Sandy Scofield | | Sandy Scofield is a Métis musician and composer with five Canadian Aboriginal Music Awards, a Canadian Folk Music Award, and three consecutive Juno nominations to her name. She also composed the music for Inner Elder, a new theatre production from award-winning artist Michelle Thrush that will run at the Pavilion Theatre in Kamloops April 23-27.
