No foul play suspected in reports of tainted Halloween candy, RCMP says; Staff at the Trinity Conception Family Resource Centre found a metal fragment in this Jolly Rancher gummy candy earlier this week\. It marks the second time a piece of metal has been found in the same package of Hersheys candy since Saturday in the Carbonear area\.

Police in St. John's have received a second report of a sharp object found inside a package of Halloween candy. And while the RCMP doesn't suspect foul play, they say it's a great reminder to be safe and double check your treats this Halloween.

There have been two confirmed reports of small pieces of metal that have been found inside sealed packages of candy. According to RCMP Cpl. Jolene Garland, police believe it is a manufacturing issue. She says there are quick ways to check and see if candy packaging has been punctured.
