On July 4, flash flooding in central Texas, caused by a massive rainstorm, caught many off guard. The sudden, powerful floods caused destruction in several communities and led to the deaths of at least 89 people by Monday, when we posted the story. Since then, officials say, that number has grown to at least 120 and the search for missing people is ongoing.
