New Netflix series Wednesday tops streaming and TikTok

 

The spooky and altogether kooky new Netflix series Wednesday received some serious love this week. On TikTok, the show has spawned the “Wednesday dance” trend, which caught the attention of none other than Mother Monster Lady Gaga. It’s also been viewed for more than 341.2 million hours. Wednesday now holds the record on Netflix for the most hours viewed in a week for an English-language series.

Human rights organization Amnesty International published this image showing 18 of the 23 children under 18 who they said were killed by the Iranian government during protests in late September. WATCH — Plastics are ending up in our oceans, animals and air

 

Many of us interact with single-use plastics every day. While most of our plastic water bottles or even old Pokemon cards end up in the trash, not all of it does. Plastics can end up in our lakes and oceans, polluting the ecosystem. Now, the Canadian government is working to eliminate that. As of Dec. 20, it will be illegal to make or import certain plastics like cutlery, straws and plastic bags. If you’re wondering why single-use plastics are such a big deal, CBC Kids News contributor Saba Vahedyousefi, explains.

What's one way you can cut down on single-use plastics?

 

Starting on Dec. 20, some single-use plastics will be banned in Canada. Single-use plastic is a big problem for the environment because most plastic isn’t biodegradable. When it breaks down into what’s called microplastics, it can end up interrupting every ecosystem on the planet. What’s one way you can reduce your single-use plastic use? We want to hear from you!
