Investigative Journalist Intern - Residential Schools Database

The Investigative Journalism Foundation (IJF) is hosting a paid, full-time internship from May to August, for a First Nations post-secondary student ordinarily resident on reserve or in a recognized community who is returning to studies in the fall. The successful intern will write stories based on the IJF's soon-to-launch Residential Schools Database. For more information and to apply by May 2, visit https://theijf.applytojobs.ca/editorial/37275

EU-Canada Young Journalist Fellowship

This Fellowship selects three candidates to participate in an all-expenses-paid, week-long study tour to experience the EU institutions, the Canadian Mission to the EU, and media outlets in Brussels, Belgium. Participants must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, actively enrolled in a Canadian university/post-secondary institution or working in journalism and between the ages 18-30. Reverie: The Indigenous Music Residency

From July 2-31, four participants will travel to Toronto, access production and mentorship support, write a new, original song and present their creations to the public in a showcase performance. APTN Summer Student Camera Operator/Editor

APTN, the first national Indigenous broadcaster in the world, is recruiting a student aged 15-30, from a secondary or post-secondary program related to broadcasting. CJF Announces CBC Indigenous Journalism Fellow

 
 

The Canadian Journalism Foundation (CJF) has announced that Joy SpearChief-Morris is the recipient of the 2025 CJF-CBC Indigenous Journalism Fellowship, established to amplify Indigenous voices and foster better comprehension of Indigenous issues. SpearChief-Morris is an Indigenous Black Canadian journalist and former athlete from Lethbridge, AB, who specializes in print news and long-form features. "This year, Joy SpearChief-Morris will become part of the CBC Indigenous team and have the chance to really integrate into the CBC," said Selection Committee member Meagan Fiddler, a senior producer with CBC Indigenous. "I look forward to working with Joy to really hone her already considerable skills and develop her exciting pitch." For the full story, visit:
