Mandy Gull-Masty resigns as grand chief, announces run for Liberals in northern Quebec

Mandy Gull-Masty officially launched her campaign on April 1, 2025, as the Liberal candidate in Abitibi—Baie-James—Nunavik—Eeyou. She announced on March 27 that she would be stepping down as grand chief to jump into federal politics.

Kaitlynn Hester Moses talks about the Cree Nation Youth Council winter journey

The Cree Nation Youth Council winter journey started on March 18, 2025 in Waskaganish and arrived in Eastmain Eastmain on March 25. Kaitlynn Hester Moses helped with the departure.

Cree students from Mistissini selected to go to national science fair

Errol Mianscum and Mark Petawabano from Voyageur Memorial High School in Mistissini were among 80 students from 21 Indigenous communities invited to present their science projects at the science fair held on March 18-20 in the twin Cree and Inuit communities of Whapmagoostui and Kuujjuaraapik.

Tim Whiskeychan teaches Cree cultural art in Paris

Waskaganish artist Tim Whiskeychan went to France for a week in March 2025 to show and teach his painting skills. He worked with students from two schools in Vitry-sur-Seine. He shared his experience with us.
