The Diversity of Voices portal has been updated! Emily Sit shares a new Sit Down with Ify Chiwetelu, nominations for EDI initiatives are now open, and we highlight the latest diversity and inclusion news in Canadian media.

SITTING DOWN WITH IFY CHIWETELU

An open and honest conversation with the Nigerian-born and Calgary-raised Ify Chiwetelu, CBC radio co-host of Now or Never and co-creator of Black on the Prairies which won Ify and her fellow creator, Omayra Issa, CBC’s Equity, Diversity and Inclusion “Inclusive Storyteller” award.

Leaving a job in the oil and gas industry as a financial analyst to follow her gut, we talk about having to take risks in order to give yourself the best shot at success.

CBC BLACK CHANGEMAKER SERIES

CBC Quebec's Black Changemaker series recognizes local Black individuals whose efforts are making a meaningful impact and inspiring others. Now in it's third year, this series honours artists, creators, health-care workers, educators, entrepreneurs, community organizers and everyone in between.

This year, CBC Atlantic is launching their own Black Changemaker series, and 2023 nominations close today.

FIRST STOP: YELLOWKNIFE

CBC All Nations members Lenard Monkman, Lawrence Nayally, and outCBC co-chair Faith Fundal (on behalf of Angelica Cooper) sit down for an AWE discussion from CBC Yellowknife. They discuss "what it means to bring your whole self to work" and how bringing this authentic self to the CBC benefits the audience we serve.

EMPLOYEE RESOURCE GROUPS (ERGs)

New to CBC or looking to participate in an extra-curricular activity? Join one of CBC's many Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). 


These groups are voluntary, employee-led groups formed to act as a resource for both group members and the CBC, fostering a more diverse, inclusive workplace aligned with CBC's engagement and inclusion strategy.
