Mi'kmaw rapper Wolf Castle launches the only Indigenous label in Atlantic Canada

As Tristan Grant closed out 2024 and took stock of the future, he kept thinking about something that was missing: an Indigenous music label in Atlantic Canada. As far as Grant can tell, there doesn't ever seem to have been a label of its kind on the East Coast. So the award-winning rapper, who has also hosted CBC Music's contemporary Indigenous music show Reclaimed, wants to expand the network.

P.E.I. pilot project offers cooking classes to young autistic adults

The eight-week course is offered by The Thoughtful Giver, an organization that provides programming and care services, such as tutoring and housekeeping. Students aged 18 to 30 will learn basic cooking skills, such as knife skills, poaching, searing and how to cook a three-course meal.

Tires are Nova Scotia's biggest U.S. export, and this town runs on them

In Bridgewater, N.S., 25 per cent of the town's working-age people rely on Michelin. Francois Michelin picked Nova Scotia to be the home of his company's first foray into North America in 1969, and there are now 35 production facilities, including six in Nova Scotia and Quebec. As troubling times loom over Canada, people remain optimistic, looking to Michelin as an investment in Nova Scotia.
