When Joy Akinkunmi signed up for a science fair two years ago, she had no idea that something she was seeing at home would serve as the inspiration for her project. The 15-year-old student saw how difficult it was for a family member with Lewy body dementia to take their medication. She hopes to one day commercialize pill dispenser for people with mild or moderate dementia.

Her sisters have her back. That's because they were on the ice too — Cassidy, 14, as the other linesperson and Brae-Lynn, 16, as the referee.

Restored Province House will offer visitors stories of Black, Indigenous communities when it reopens next year

Charlottetown's historic Province House is scheduled to reopen in the fall of 2025 after 10 years of renovations that cost more than $138 million. The project team of Parks Canada created a stakeholder advisory committee, as well as a First Nations advisory circle, to help shape the new visitor experience, to include the history of Indigenous, Black and other communities on P.E.I.
