The grand cief representing a group of First Nations in northeastern Manitoba says members have been left in shock after a young girl from one of their communities allegedly suffered "horrific abuse" at the hands of her foster parents last week.

Jorden Kananga kicked his first soccer ball in the dusty fields of a refugee camp in Malawi. Kananga immigrated to Winnipeg in 2016 with his family where he sharpened his skills on local pitches and played for community clubs.
